What is A Way Out?

Currently in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC, A Way Out is a cinematic narrative adventure that can only be experienced with another player. Whether beside you on the sofa or online, each of you fulfils the role of a single character across this tense action-adventure.

It’s something we rarely see in modern gaming, a game that embraces local multiplayer without compromise.

A Way Out Story – What’s it about?

A Way Out Gameplay – How does it work?

Played from a third-person perspective, A Way Out is an action-adventure designed with local multiplayer at the forefront. You play as either Leo or Vincent, two convicted prisoners who must escape and remain anonymous upon their return to society. Of course, things don’t exactly go to plan.

You’ll need to co-operate to succeed, whether it be finding specific tools for certain puzzles or saving each other when engaging enemies. Everything is designed with two players in mind, including all the dialogue, encounters and locations. Leo and Vincent aren’t confined to their roles either, being able to switch places in each scenario to make second playthroughs far more interesting.

Alongside combat and puzzle solving you can also interact with NPCs in each level. Picking from select dialogue options might advance the story in different ways or unlock modes of progression previously unknown.
